Meet our team

The Carlton Park committee meets regularly to ensure the smooth running of the Club.

Christine Gaby

Christine Gaby

President

I have been involved in Surf Lifesaving for over 29 years, achieving my bronze in the 90’s with Burnie SLSC. When Stubbo and I moved south we were warmly welcomed by the Carlton Park tribe and really, we have been here ever since! I was Junior Manager at Carlton Park for 3 years whilst my children went through the Nipper movement – the whole family made friends for life during this time. I have been on the executive for 9 yearts and this is my 5th year as President. I am proudly the first female President of this amazing club.

Jo Stolp

Jo Stolp

Vice President

When we moved to Hobart we joined Carlton Park where I’ve helped in different capacities including four years as the Junior Manager. On a state basis I have served on the SLST Board and chaired the State Operations Executive. Nationally I have been a mentor for the SLSA women’s mentoring program. My kids are all still involved, competing and patrolling for Carlton Park and it happily fills our weekends year round.

Secretary

I joined this wonderful club when my girls were Seahorses and became an Age Manager when they moved into Nippers. I love being in the ocean and catching waves, on boards or just a good old body bash. Seeing my girls embrace the surf and other associated lifesaving skills has been immensely satisfying. It is the ultimate family sport.

Dean Harris

Dean Harris

Club Relations Manager

I started my time in surf by getting my bronze and patrolling at Clifton as a teenager. After a while away from surf we returned as a family when the kids started nippers at Carlton Park a couple of seasons ago. I love the family feel of the Club and watching the kids grow and develop through the nipper program!

Rob Peart

Rob Peart

Junior/Development Manager

We as a family have been involved in the Carlton Park Surf Lifesaving Club, from 5 year old Seahorse’s, to 40 something year old Masters, and have loved every moment. Not only learning First Aid, navigating beach environments, volunteering, patrolling and surf training with the crew on the local beaches, but creating friendships across the state competing at surf carnivals and ocean swims. Our children have engaged in skills that will be with them their entire life, best mates are made at Carlton Park Surf Lifesaving Club.

Michael Moschogianis

Surf Sports Manager

Following a 21 year break from the sport due to living interstate, raising a family and other sporting commitments, I am extremely excited to re-join Carlton Park and contribute to this vibrant community. Originally from Noosa and a member of CPSLSC back in 1992, I have been extremely fortunate to have had a 27 year professional sports administration career that also included stints with SLSA and Surf Sport Australia.  Surf Life Saving is in my blood and I look forward to making a difference to this amazing club and community organisation in any way I can, whether it be on patrol, training or competing.

Shayne Jupp

Surf Life Saving Manager

I spent my Nipper and Bronze years in the Penguin Surf Club and found my new home at Carlton Park when my daughters started with Seahorses. I love training with the kids and the big kids and teaching the Lifesaving skills that I have learned from the wonderful volunteers across a lifetime of surf activities.

Jamie Stubbs

Jamie Stubbs

Club House Manager

I’ve been involved in SLS since 1983, with 7 years at Somerset, then 10 at Burnie before moving South and I’ve been with Carlton Park since 2001. The thing that struck me when Christine and I first joined CP was how relaxed and friendly the club is! I’ve held different positions in surf including Club Captain at Somerset and Patrol Officer at Burnie and now Club House Manager at CP. I’ve patrolled every season for 38 years and competed in Board, Ski, Boat and IRB, State Teams (1995 – 2000), and enjoying success with teammates is always the highlight.  I mostly just enjoy a ski paddle these days.
