The Spirit of the Seahorse
Located at beautiful Carlton Beach, just 35 minutes drive from Hobarts CBD, Carlton Park has a large and active membership and a strong family focus. We provide lifesaving services for the greater Frederick Henry Bay area throughout the summer months, with our qualified members patrolling our beach from December to March from 11 am to 4pm on weekends and public holidays. We also provide water safety activities at selected events.
At Carlton Park there is a strong focus on providing a supportive environment for our junior and cadet members, ensuring they develop the skills and knowledge to be safe and confident in the surf. The Clubs Nipper program is particularly popular with children aged from 5 to 15 years and attracts young families from across the greater Hobart area.
Senior competitors and patrolling members enjoy strong camaraderie and community support. Saving and protecting lives is our core business and we are committed to the provision of surf rescue, emergency care and first aid awards and qualifications. Many of our senior members choose to compete in surf lifesaving competitions both to maintain fitness and for the social benefits that the surf lifesaving movement offers.
Carlton Park offers excellent training and social facilities, including an extensive clubhouse with panoramic views and well-equipped function room, bar and kitchen. Lifesaving equipment is well catered for with a new storage facility boasting ample space including a new canteen.
The success of our Club relies on the generosity and dedication of volunteers. There is something for everyone at Carlton Park. Whether you are an active patrolling senior member, an associate member, an age manager in the Nipper program, a helper in the canteen or one of our Nippers, we encourage you to get in touch and come and join the Carlton Park family.
